Antique Vintage Galiano/Weymann/ Schmidt Mandolin

This
item is  offered item has been professionally restored and is in extremely great
playing condition, with a very clear piecing loud voice for classical or
celtic playing. It will certainly be
most suitable for recording as well as performance.
The parts are by Weymann (Pa.) as clearly evidenced by our own labeled items for sale & the vintage catalogues online.  Oscar Schmidt (NY. then N.J.) frequently bought parts and had instruments made for his company by other makers in order to fill his catalogue.
Galiano (or Gagliano) was a trade name used by local Italian luthiers in Phila, Pa. that did either did not make a particular type of model or wish to put their own name in an instrument they did not make from start to finish. (Guitarist Eddie Lang played a Gagliano archtop guitar before signing w/ Gibson).
This mandolin is 90% original. The frets were redone (from special order replica material) the label is vintage but after market. The strings are Galli (Italy) light gauge, .010-.032.
Our
repairman at The Repair zone has completely gone over this instrument
and has effected all necessary repairs. The cracks are repaired and
holding, the top & neck are very straight & the frets
are level. The instrument itself will see the same luthier again the day
it ships.
